The price of the Symposium Dinner is included in the Registration Fee. The location of the restaurant and the way to get there will be given upon registration of the participants. Accompanying persons that wish to go to the Symposium Dinner must pay the fee of 40 euros at the Secretariat of the Symposium before 15.00h of July 18. No other Social Program is predicted during the V6 Symposium. |

Lisbon can be reached From "Oriente" Metro station choose your direction to either "Praça de Espanha" or "S. Sebastião" stations. Listed below are rudimentary directions taking you to "2ª Circular /Segunda Circular", the Lisbon ring road from where you may get to "Praça de Espanha". - From the North: Take A1 to 2ª Circular; Take Eixo Norte/Sul and exit in "Praça de Espanha" signs. - From the West: Take A8 to CRIL (IC-17) to 2ª Circular; Take Eixo Norte/Sul and exit in "Praça de Espanha" signs. - From the South (crossing Tejo River): If you take "Vasco da Gama" Bridge, go to 2ª Circular, take Eixo Norte/Sul and follow the signs to "Praça de Espanha". If you take "25 de Abril" Bridge, take Eixo Norte/Sul and leave in "Praça de Espanha" signs. Within and around the center of Lisbon there parking is available as short term parking - payment zone. |

Language The official language of the Symposium will be English. No simultaneous translation will be provided. Passport and Visas All non-residents of the EU are required to have a valid passport. Participants should check regarding visa requirements for travel to Portugal. Applications should be made to the nearest Portugal Embassy or Consulate as soon as possible. Citizens of member states of the European Union and the USA do not need visas. Insurance and Liability Participants are advised to arrange whatever insurance they consider necessary. No responsibility can be assumed by the symposium committee for personal accidents, sickness, theft, or property damage suffered by the participants. Climate Weather in July is usually warm and sunny (18-28°C). Electricity The electrical current is 230 volts, 50 Hz. Banking Bank hours are: Monday - Friday 08:00am - 03:00 pm Currency Since the beginning of 2002 the EURO (€) is the official currency in Portugal. 1 Euro = 100 Cents. Coins: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 Cents; 1, 2 Euros Banknotes: 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 Euros Some prices are additionally quoted in Escudos ($), which was the old national currency. Money can be changed at the airport, at banks, exchange bureaus, and larger hotels.
